This Florida style house has a beautiful "Florida room" which has all the original pecky cypress paneling and allows guests to view the heated swimming pool to the West, or watch the boats go by 50' from your patio, on Roosevelt channel to the East. A shared boat dock is available to renters who have a boat they would like to include in their vacation or if you want to try it for a day or two, rent a boat for some of the best fishing in Southwest Florida! If the owner, Tom Loomis is around he'll tell you where the good spots are, or engage a guide from one of the area marinas for you.
Fish off the dock for sheepshead, snook, sea trout and red fish. Feed the osprey on the dock and observe all the different shore birds that congregate on the mud flats and feed along the living shoreline. Watch for porpoise and manatees to swim by and keep a look out for the families of otter who live in the area that has been preserved by Mr. Loomis.
If you want to be a beach bum, there is deeded
beach access for
your enjoyment of the beautiful Captiva Island Beaches that embrace the
warm and wonderful waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
Also located on the property is
the largest Buttonwood Tree in Lee County known as "Old Twister" which has
been growing there for over 400 years and supports all sorts of bird life
all of which can be seen from the patio, Florida room or two of the three
bedrooms.
